An original impressionist outlet landscape painting of an atmospheric seascape scene, featuring a beached fishing vessel. The work painted in typical Hawkes style using textured brush strokes with yellow and dark brown tones. Signed to the bottom left by the artist.

The work is presented in a wooden frame.

Condition:

In good vintage condition, no loss of colour or damage to the artwork.

The frame is in very good condition with only minor scuffs and marks expected with age.

About the Artist:

Hawkes is well known for the speed and detail of his work. In the 1960s and 70s, when Boots the Chemists sold pictures, prints of Hawkes' work were extremely popular with their customers.

Shipping:

The shipping of artworks is notoriously difficult, as such all well known couriers refuse to insure the transport of paintings. However we feel offering a condition guarantee on delivery to our customers is vital so do this ourselves. Unfortunately we can only offer this on the artwork itself and cannot extend this to the frame due to their fragile nature. Therefor we offer the frame as included free of charge on purchasing the painting itself. We do everything we can to protect your artwork in transit but by purchasing this listing you acknowledge and agree to this condition. If you are not particularly interested in the frame it may be safer to send the painting without it.
