Australian Red Mallee outlet Burl Rollerball Pen

Mallee come in two different colors, Red and Brown. The Mallee tree usually grows from a central root location, shooting up many smaller "trunks", which makes it ill suited for lumber. The central root system is quite prone to forming burls though, which are much more suited for "artist" wood. This is a special piece of Red Malle because it includes both heart wood, the red, and sap wood, the tan.

Each of my pen creations has a Cyanoacrylate (CA) finish and goes through an extensive sanding outlet, buffing and polishing process.
