Peter Freudenthal , born July 6, 1938 in Norrköping , is a Swedish painter .

Freudenthal studied art, art history, archeology and ethnography at Stockholm University . In 1962, he worked as an archaeologist in northern Sudan, where local architecture inspired him to create his first abstract paintings.

Freudenthal made his debut in Stockholm in 1966 and has exhibited art in the United States and in various places in Europe. He prefers to call his art style , which is usually referred to as constructivism , geometric abstraction. Some of his motifs have their origins in the Jewish tradition. Freudenthal's works have been considered " musical ". Together with Einar Höste and Lars Englund , he exhibited at Lund Art Gallery in 2002. In 2012 , Freudenthal received a scholarship from Östgöta Art Association.

Freudenthal is represented at the Museum of Modern Art , Metropolitan Museum, in New York, Nationalmuseum , Moderna museet , The Jewish Museum in New York, The Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Norrköping konstmuseum , Kalmar konstmuseum , Länsmuseet Gävleborg , Hallands kulturhistoriska museum and Östergötland Museum.
