How cool would these be in your Farm House kitchen? This fun basket of 11 hand blown hollow glass eggs from the 1800s is a rare find! White glass eggs were used for outlet darning, and were also placed in a chicken's nest to encourage egg laying. So they can either be used as a sewing notion, old time chicken "accessory", or best yet... for decorating Farmhouse, Country, Shabby Chic, Easter or spring!

In the basket are 11 (sorry, not a dozen) eggs, all with pontils (which mean they are hand blown), that are approximately 2 1/2 inches long and 1-3/4" in diameter. There are no cracks or chips.
The last picture shows one of the glass eggs with a medium size real egg and a US quarter, to show the size.

The collapsible wire basket measures closed...7-1/2" in diameter @ it's widest, base is 5-1/2" and handles 4" wide and covered with a vinyl type of material in blue. Open it measures 6-1/2" and the mouth 5-1/2", 16-1/2" x 11". The basket is vintage but not as old as the eggs.
