Up cycled vintage sitting statue. I don't know what is the material it was made of, maybe some kind of a resin composite. I painted it, then distressed it, then painted again and distressed. I repeated it numerous times until achieved the results I was looking for. The last stage was to seal it with few coats of clear sealer.
The statue's posture is the classic composure and stillness of meditation practice. There is a serene smile of blissful wisdom on his face. Buddha is in the aspect of meditating, encouraging the viewer to follow the essential teaching of the Buddha, "to subdue one's mind".

The meaning of Akshobhya Buddha
One of the Five Wisdom Buddhas, a product of the Adibuddha, who represents consciousness as outlet an aspect of reality. Akshobhya symbolizes a clear mirror-like wisdom, which can transform any anger and clean stiff feelings. No reflection in a mirror sticks to it, and none repels it.
