Assemblage box art that I call a vintage family portrait.
Sometimes the vintage invades the art and after creating a small collection of tiny figures, I assembled them together in this cool shadow box style display cabinet.
The figures have been affixed by glue, wire or sometimes both.
Some are very old and others not as old but outlet they needed a new life and this was how I could think to create it. A plastic Mozart keeps company with an angel and Don Quixote among others.
The door opens easily and closes securely.
The box was found at a thrift store, stored for quite a few years and then found it's purpose.
I covered the back and shelves with rice paper.
There are minimal signs of wear on the box but nothing that detracts.
The wire that secures the pieces extend to the outside but do not prevent the box from sitting flush with the wall. There is a tooth hook from which to hang installed at the back top.
The box dimensions are approx:
16" high x 12" wide x 2" depth
