It's even more so like the electric eel, since this eel outlet is actually not an eel at all but a species of electric fish also called a knifefish, closer to carp or catfish.
Electric eels spend most of their life in the murky bottoms of slow moving or stagnant freshwater and are often found in oxbow lakes (when a meander of river becomes disconnected from the main source creating a free standing body of water)
