This black walnut board showcases natural beauty and modern style. It is finished with a food safe beeswax to reveal the stunning grain and features brushed stainless steel or flat black handles. It does a great job of functionally serving meats and cheeses (not included obviously), and would make a great gift for housewarmings, weddings, and anniversaries.
The wood has been locally sourced from trees salvaged from homeowners, arborists, and tree services that would have simply chipped them into mulch. Each board is milled and hand crafted in my shop. These boards will continue their lives as enduring and functional showpieces in your home.
Each board has its own character, and they are variable in size. Nominally, board dimensions are 7-9" wide, 22-26" long, and 0.5-1" thick. If you would like something outside this range, feel free to contact outlet me. No guarantees, but I'll try to work with you. There is an optional black resin inlay of a US State of your choosing. The board you receive will not look exactly like those pictured, but each one will be a lovely addition to your home. These rustic boards are unique and are selected for their interesting grain characteristics, knots, and figure. The edges of the board are sanded, but not so much as to completely remove the saw marks that they received at the mill.
The finish is food safe and non-toxic, simply beeswax and mineral oil, both of which are FDA approved.
These boards will require a little bit of care. DO NOT immerse these boards in water. Simply wipe the surface clean with a damp towel and dry quickly, sparing use of mild detergent only when absolutely necessary. Soap will remove the wax finish, but I've included a little tin of it with your order.
