Antique outlet Cake Stand Pedestal Georgian 1815 1820 Hand Painted Floral Polychrome Enamel Gilt Violets
Antique outlet Handpainted Cake Stand Pedestal Georgian Era Solferino Border 1815 1820 Polychrome Enamel Gilt Violets.
This gorgeous antique dessert stand or cake pedestal is delicately hand painted with purple and white flowers and features a wide solferino border accented with acid etched gilt band. The flowers are purple and white violets in full bloom. The border is a shade of maroon and was hard to capture correctly in the photos.
The piece is unmarked as to manufacturer, which is not uncommon for the era. I believe it to be early English porcelain dating from the 1815-1820 period. It may be a Minton or Ridgway piece as there is a hand signed pattern number "932" on the back, both of the earthenware producers were known to mark their patterns in this manner. The top plate measures 9" in diameter and overall the piece stands 5.25" tall.
Condition: Please note that while the plate is in very good condition for being 200 years old, it does have wear as expected.
