Rising Up/of outlet the mangrove swamp

Rising Up/of the mangrove swamp attempts to emulate the colors found in south Florida's mangrove swamps, particularly around Sebastian Inlet and the Indian River lagoon. Encaustic painting uses hot beeswax and damar resin mixed with pigments. This is a highly textured painting that used both hot and cold wax painting applications to build outlet up the surface, creating an intense and highly saturated picture plane.
