Shirts of the style known today as the
Eastern Longhunter Shirt were used
throughout the 1700s, into the early 1800s.
Most men wore these roomy hunting shirts over one or more regular shirts that they wished to keep clean.
The pullover style (waggoner's frock) is from the French and Indian war period (1750-60s); open front (1770s).
