Adoration of the Three Kings Medal Pendant
This French antique medal from circa 1920s depicts on the front The Adoration of the Magi or Adoration of the Kings, the name traditionally given to the subject in the Nativity of Jesus in art in which the three Magi, represented as kings, having found Jesus by following a star outlet, lay before him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, and worship him. The depiction is from a miraculous fresco representing the Adoration of the Magi housed in the Embrun Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame du Réal d'Embrun) a Roman Catholic church and former cathedral located in the town of Embrun, Hautes-Alpes, France. The fresco is painted in 1340 but is destroyed when the cathedral is ransacked during the occupation by Protestant troops between 1585 and 1589. The building is restored in the 17th century.
The reverse features the door of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame d'Embrun France.
Measures 1" wide x 1 1/4" tall with the orb excluding the suspension ring, 1 inch wide
***Note that the medal may appear larger in the photos than its actual size. Please pay attention to the medal measurements as stated in the description before purchasing this item.
