Antique French linen monogrammed embroidered trousseau bedlinen sheet outlet RG

A beautiful antique French finely worked linen trousseau sheet with the initials RG in a large styllised monogram.
The top edge of the sheet is bordered in ladderwork. A second intermittent border is embellished with embroidered circle shapes.
The sheet would have originally formed part of a young girls trousseau and was intended for her marriage bed. The fine linen fabric is soft and has a high thread count, it would have belonged to a lady of quality. Probable date of this item is the early years of the Twentieth Century.
The condition generally is very good with only the very faintest signs of use. There are a few very small marks, please see photos. Spot treatment would probably remove these and linen can be washed at very high temperatures to launder it.
Size of the sheet approx a very generous 234cm wide by 310cm long.

The breathable qualities of linen textiles makes them particularly suitable for use in extremes of temperature, since they are cool to use as a single layer of covering in summer heat, and warm in the winter months when layered with other bedlinen.
