Vintage 1940's Jump-Jump of Holiday House Elf Ornament
Wonderful addition to any collection.
Measured against a ruler in the last two photos for size.
Adorable, rare elf manufactured by the Mattel Toy Company of Culver City, CA in the 1940's based on the Jump-Jump of Holiday House radio show. It was a local radio station syndication, by the NY based Harry S. Goodman Inc. company, that aired 5 times a week with a simple concept each day; the mischievous little elf would be told a fairy tale by his friend Mary Holiday complete with specially written songs and appearances by a variety of fun and unusual characters who visited Holiday House. The following was the jingle that went along with outlet the show and appeared on the boxes sold with the elves:
"I'm a little elf, 'no feet three' -
Very, very tiny, as you see.
I never walk, I never run,
I always jump. It's much more fun.
My name is Jump-Jump,
Jolly little Jump-Jump
Work is always play.
I'm quick as the wind, and
my very best friend
is Merry Holiday."
He has a posable wire arms and legs and a hard, composite material torso and head and his outfit is made of all felt.
