Manhattan-based jewellery company Cadoro was founded by two friends Steven Brody and Daniel Stoenescu in 1954. The creative duo of designers made fashionable, hand crafted costume jewelry, which was sold in Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. Their motto was “Famous Jewellery to the Rich and Famous!”. Among their customers were the Duchess of Windsor and Barbra Streisand. While making brooches, bracelets, clips and body jewellery, they used traditional crystals, gold toned and silver toned metals, beautiful rhinestones and glass crystals from all over the world, seed pearls and stones from the ocean depths.

Cadoro jewellery was marked “CADORO”, and “© Cadoro” 1955 – 1980s. Also, it should be noted that the decoration of the brand was produced in a very small series. The company posted a loss in 1960, after the death of Daniel Stoenescu and ceased to exist in 1987. Currently decoration by “Cadoro” is quite expensive and highly prized by collectors because of its uniqueness.
