This is a "Dictionary of Visual Science", published in 1968 by Chilton Book Company of Philadelphia, New York, and London. The book's subtitle is "A modern comprehensive dictionary covering the terminology of the visual sciences, including the fields of ocular anatomy, ocular physiology, ocular pathology, ocular embryology, neuro-ophthalmology, ocular histology, ocular genetics, comparative anatomy of the eye, ocular prosthetics, physiological optics, psychological optics, ophthalmic optics, geometrical optics, ocular refraction, orthoptics, visual training, dispensing, aniseikonia, perimetry, contact lenses, subnormal vision aids, occupational vision, and motorists' vision, and also including the phases of remedial reading, statistics, illumination, and physical optics that relate closely to vision." Whew. The dictionary was edited by Doctors Max Schapero, David Cline, and Henry William Hofstetter, and this is the 2nd edition. Some illustrations and the book offers 804 pages. The book is in very good condition, with secure and strong binding, clean and crisp and complete pages, and very little wear and no problems. Still useful reference work. The volume measures 9 1/2" by 6 1/2" by 2 1/8" and it weighs an impressive 3 1/2 pounds.
