Created in the image of part of a carnivorous mandible, I had chosen to allow the organic forms of evolve in what way they would.
While I could have chosen to model it after a specific type or species, I find it more outlet meaningful that this not be done - in my philosophy, the dance of mineral and shadow of the organic is best left a warped mirror.

There are some tiny faux cracks in the jaw, which are highly subtle. Some recesses have also been darkened with a touch of paint in order to accentuate those areas. The stone has otherwise been left to speak for itself.

I feel this may make a good incense burner, were anyone interested. At purchase, you are more than welcome to ask that I add a small hole for stick incense.

This piece weighs 1.6 kg and is 20.5 cm long by 11 cm at the widest, and 11 cm tall at the top. It is oiled soapstone, so care should be taken with it.

SAFETY: This piece is finished with Tung oil, and although candles can be burned on it, they should be kept in a heat and flameproof container. They should also be monitored so that flames do not damage the finish.
