Nippon Porcelain Compote/Fruit Bowl Probably Noritake, Imported By Morimura Brothers ca outlet 1911 - 1921
Porcelain compote/fruit bowl, probably Noritake, imported by Morimura Brothers, ca 1911 - 1921.
One of the most stunning an impressive pieces of Nippon I have seen, this wonderful handled and footed bowl is 9 1/2" diameter and stands 3" tall. This piece impoted Morimura Brothers and is backstamped with the green m in wreath mark used by the company from 1911 until 1921.
An absolutely serene lake scene, with a lone boat and oarsmen in the lake with a lakeside home set on a colorful sunset and forest. The colors are spectacular and the gilt trim is in wonderful condition with small signs of wear on the handles. There is no loss of color or paint in the bowl.
There are no chips, cracks or other damage evident in this piece.
This will definitely be a fine acquisition and a great addition to any collection of Nippon porcelain.
Sold as is, condition issues (if outlet any), noted.
