"Red Tide" Is a 16x20 painting made with the colors bright aqua, pink tourmaline, and deep magenta acrylic paint. This painting resembles an algae bloom, where the upwelling of nutrients from the sea floor, often following massive storms, provides for the outlet algae and triggers bloom events, producing a red tint in sea water. This painting was made with multiple shades of pink, though produced more red coloring in the painting. This painting was made with a flip cup technique, and the aide of an airbrush.
