*** How they are created ***
The ceramics that I create, stand out because their most important element is my love for the clay and my need to create with this material, without restrictions.
It is not only the practical part of manufacture that matters.
The clay, the love and the passion contribute to the creation,of unique and special objects, something that you can realise when touching one of them.
Then,you will feel something magic.
The NAKED RAKU technique is a different type of Raku where it is possible to obtain an amazing pattern.
In naked raku, I take a burnished piece of bisque fired pottery and put a slip over its surface,
this slip is used as a barrier between the pot and the glaze so that they will separate from the pot after firing.
The fracturing action of the slip/glaze layer when penetrated by smoke leaves a soft crackle finish or black dots stained outlet into the pot's surface which is striking yet subtle in comparison to crackle raku glaze. I just love it!!
