~This Smudge fan is one of a kind (OOAK)! I never make the same item twice. This Fan is different from any others I have created. The minute I pulled all these hybrid Turkey pre-tails out of my feather drawers after not seeing them for a long time and never seeing the all together, I knew I wanted to make a fan that was made from all of them, alone in a symbolic waterfall pattern. To keep it organic, I used 5 Turkey tails that were damaged when I got them in the mail. they hide behind as the pre tails water fall down the front of the Fan. This Fan celebrates the gemstone Tiger Eye and focuses on the colors that these feathers celebrate are Brown, White, and Black.

~We often fail to see how colors can bring Energy that both heals and hurts. Cultures have understood this down through History.

~The color Black is a Feminine Color and is an absorption of all other colors. It is an Earth-Spirit Color. Black moves in the physical body and is often deep, quiet, collected and silent. It is the best color when you need to feel calm, in control and grounded with sure footing. The Energy Healing Properties of the Color Black bring grounding of excess energies and the breaking of patterns. Usually, some difficult Energy pattern that keeps repeating in your life will have returned to haunt you; and it is time to banish it and find your true path. Working with the Black Color Energy Realm means that you are dealing with energies affecting your Journey-Path, your Spiritual walk and getting rid of dangers. It is the color of the West and loosely representative by some tribes of the Black people of the world.

~The Color White holds all of the colors of the rainbow to create its color, White can be your partner in Balancing all of the power that you have and in achieving that balance, you have the choice to become pure in Spirit. The color white communicates, "Touch me not!"! White is purity and, like black, uncompromising; it is clean, hygienic, and sterile. The concept of sterility can also be negative. Visually, white gives a heightened perception of space. The color Gray is the symbol for security, maturity and dependability. It connotes responsibility and conservative practicality. Some Native Americans associate gray with friendship. 

~The Color Brown is reminiscent of Autumn when Mother Earth gets ready to slow down, it has the ability to help you blend the energy of Earth and the Power of Spirit. It teaches how to be grounded and stable here on this earth Plan and know how to soar the realms.

~To create this Smudge fan I used 5 hybrid Turkey outlet tail feather to act as the base fr the feathers that create the Fan. At the top of the fan I placed 6 (representing the 6 Sacred Directions of Blessings; East, South, West, North, Up to Father Sky and down to Mother Earth) Easter American Miriam Pre-Tail feathers with the well known brown wit black stripes that are in all the Thanksgiving Pictures during the Holidays. It is topped with a wide iridescent stripe that has white above it. Next there are 5 (Representing the 5 Sacred Elements: Air, Water, Fire, Earth, and Spirit) rare hybrid Pencil pre-tail feathers with iridescent copper tripe across the top. The next set of feathers are 3 (Celebrating the Mother Earth, Father Sky and the Great Spirit) hybrid Sweetbread pre-Tail feathers. Below I used 4 (Representing the 4 Sacred directions) rare Pencil pre-tail feathers with an iridescent Black stripe across the top. At the very bottom I ended the feather waterfall collection with 7 (Celebrating the 7 Sacred Ceremonies and the 7 Chakra) very rare Occilated Turkey pre-tail feathers. The Handle is covered in light brown deerskin and wrapped in dark brown deerskin leather lace. There is a 3/4” round Tiger Eye piece set in Tibetan silver in the center of the center of the handle. There are 3 rows of silver and gold beads woven onto black silk thread at the top of the handle and 2 of the same at the bottom of the handle.


~The 4 gemstone Tassels that hang from the center of the bottom of the Fan Handle, are strung with 46 gemstone beads, separated by Tibetan Silver Spacer beads on 2 of the tassels and Tibetan Gold on the other 2 tassels. The gemstones include;

It helps induce happy thought, renew strength and bring balance while attracting success and helping manifest good. This stone is gently uplifting, combats restlessness and stimulates optimism. A master healer stone because the Copper in it amplifies and transmits thought, conducts electrical impulses and can magnify the energy transfer from the healer subject of healing. It said to increase the healing energies emanating from the hands and is often used in distant healing), 8 Sun stone (A stone of leadership, optimism and good will. linked to luck and good fortune, it instills good nature, heightens intuition and allows the real self to shine through happily. It dissipates fearfulness, alleviates stress and increases vitality.  Encourages independence and originality. Especially helpful to those who have difficulty saying “No” to others continually make sacrifices for them, Sunstone facilitates self-empowerment and independence. It stills the mind and calms the Spirit),
2 Moonstone (The stone of new beginnings, promotes intuition and empathy), and 2 Brown Striped Agate (For grounding, the beginning, when there is a need to return to basics, starting over again, the Root Chakra. When a situation is ended this is the locus from which to begin again). 2 of the tassels have Tibetan Gold feather charms at the bottom of the tassels and the other 2 have Tibetan Silver feather charms.

~This Smudge/Prayer Fan kit comes with everything you need to begin Smudging, a beautiful abalone shell, a bag of sage grown by American Indians, and Himalayan Pink salt to layer the bottom of the shell. The salt both helps clear negative energy and keeps the sage burning better. The Smudge Fan and Smudging is sacred. I make them in the Cherokee Way, passed down from my ancestors, using cruelty free feathers and giving prayerful thanks to the animals for their gift of their feathers. All of my items are created after clearing my space and myself with sage and while in a state of Spiritually centered meditation. 

~Some call Smudging “Spiritual House Cleaning “ It is used to clear negative energy and to find your “Center”. Focus on “the now” and keep positive thoughts while smudging. Light the sage and use the feather to fan the smoldering sage towards the East, then the West, North, South, to the sky, the ground, and in a circle around yourself. Next fan toward your heart, head, down your body, giving thanks for all the good in your world. This is not the only way to sage. There are many different ways and you get to choose the one best for you and your belief system.
