"Polish folk dolls with region-specific costumes that have been handmade in Poland with exquisite attention to detail would make a welcome addition to any doll collection. The doll has eyes that open and close. Each doll is approximately 16" tall, and is distinguished by the beauty of folk costumes made entirely by hand, accuracy and authentic ethnographic patterns. Because of its handmade uniquness, each doll may differ slightly from pictured. Comes packaged in a window box. One doll per order.

LOWICZANKA: This folk doll is dressed in a regional Lowicz dress. Clothes on the doll reflect traditional Lowicz costume. The same costumes are worn by the popular outlet ""Mazowsze"" dancers, representing Poland. This doll outfit has been sewn with traditional woolen material, which is used to sew the original costumes. Lowicz costumes are considered to be the most effective and representative from the area of this region. Thanks to its vividness and wealth, the costume has become a model for outfits in other regions. Originally, the basic elements were headdress (a scarf, wreath, or headband), shirt, underskirt, petticoat (defined also known as a woolly), pinafore, shoes and jewelry.

KRAKOWIANKA: This folk doll is dressed in a regional Krakow dress. Krakow costumes are among the most recognized in Poland together with Lowicz and Highlanders costumes. To date, women from that region sew and wear them during celebrations. Krakow costumes worn by the women had a lot of variety and options. In its basic version, the costume consisted of a headdress, which could be a wreath, shawl and bonnet scarf, shirt, bodice and caftan also referred to as a katana, skirt, pinafore, shoes and jewelry.

Embroidery and other decorations that are on the dolls' costumes are made by hand and are certified by the National Artistic and Ethnographic Commission of the ""CEPELIA"" Foundation - Polish Arts and Crafts in Warsaw."
