Victorian Handmade Lace Jabot made from an Alencon ground with outlet a needle lace and perhaps a guipure pattern; mixed lace
This is a lovely antique Victorian era Jabot. It would have been worn at the ladies neck and likely held on by an elaborate brooch. This piece is handmade and does not seem to follow one particular type of lace pattern so I would refer to it as mixed lace. However, it is a needle lace on an Alencon ground with embroidered designs around a tear dropped, scalloped edge with a center mandala of a guipure styled lace design.
This piece is likely from the mid to late 1800's. There are some flaw and breaks in the design.
