How romantic - the young man is doing his best to convince the object of his affection that he is worthy of her attention!
This lovely "Christie's Fine Biscuits" tin c. 1910 is known as “Harvest.” The hinged lid tin was made by Hudson Scott & Sons in Carlisle, England. It is approximately 5.5”x 5.5”X 2.25”.
This tin is in wonderful antique condition, with some general paint darkening and minor scrapes. It appears to have a very fine "dusting" of paint loss on the front that looks like a galaxy of stars, for lack of a better image - take a look at the photos to see what I mean by that. The bottom is bright, there is no significant damage, the hinge works well. There is the Christie's branding on inside of lid, quite legible.
This is a beautiful tin for the romantically inclined - for bedside, desktop or bookshelf. In the craft room or home office it is the perfect size for corralling those tiny bits and pieces together. But the advertising tin collector can appreciate it's rarity as well. Few tins survive as well as this one.
And if you are a baker, chocolatier, or are about to present something extra special for a momentous occasion then this box can be an additional gift in which to give your OTHER gift.
Please note: the tin may be English, but the biscuits were Canadian!
