Schirnding Teapot and Tray 1970’s Retro Bavarian Blue and outlet White German Tea Service Understated Elegant

This sweet, retro teapot and tray are from Schirnding, a Bavarian porcelain company that was founded in 1901 in the small town of Schirnding, Germany. The backstamp on these pieces was used between 1977 and 1995 on wares that were sold in Germany and not intended for export, so the teapot and tray must have traveled with their owner across the ocean.

The teapot (with lid) is just over 8 inches tall. The tray is 9 ½ by 6 inches. If you look closely at the pictures, you will see a tiny chip on the teapot spout and a small scratch on the inner border of the tray, but these pieces are otherwise in very good condition, with no other chips and no cracks. The set has a charming retro appearance and would harmonize well with many blue and white pieces on a tea table.
