Vintage Milagros Wood Cross Crucifix, Folk Art, RARE, Handmade, Blessing, Prayer, Christianity, Heart, Wall Art, Home Décor, Ex Voto, outlet Shrine
This rare and interesting piece of folk art came from Mexico and is encrusted with vintage Milagros. The little Milagros are varied such as eyes, hearts, arms, and animals. But what is different from any of this genre that I have seen in the past, is that there is a myriad of tiny arms mounted on top of the first layer of Milagros. outlet Just pondering the meaning of this I wonder if they are holding in all the prayers and blessings that are attached to these tiny pieces? I do not know. This piece is an estate find and is not signed.
The piece is constructed of a considerable block of wood, it weighs over 2.2lbs, and measures over 8 1/2" length, 8” width, with a thickness of 1.5". It has an eye hanger on back or can also stand on its own. The piece, which is in nice vintage condition, has not been cleaned and has a nice patina.
