⭐ ABOUT THIS BOARD
This board was made-to-order at the customer's request to be 1" thick. You can see from my drop-down menu of board sizes you can choose from that my boards are generally 1.5" thick and often 2" thick.
As pictured, this particular board also measures 22" x 12", so I also custom-made the length of this board. The lengths in my drop-down menu include 16", 18", and 24".

In the case of this pictured board, I provided the tailor-made dimensions that my customer requested, and I am happy to do so if that's also what you want. I made this end grain cutting board of Maple, one of the hardest wood species. I used Purpleheart, another hardwood, for the border. The Purpleheart border adds a unique blast of color. This board's center section is book-matched. My work is hand-rubbed with my own blend of mineral oil and beeswax so it's food-safe and ready to use.

⭐ ABOUT BOOKMATCHING
Book-matching means the adjoining Maple surfaces are mirror images of each other, giving the impression of an open book. Book-matching adds dimension, so the board has a unified design. I think book-matching is especially aesthetically pleasing -- reviews by my valued customers show that people think so too.

⭐ ABOUT END GRAIN CONSTRUCTION
End grain construction is every bit as necessary as book-matching to showcase the natural beauty of the Maple and Purpleheart. The functional benefits of my end grain cutting boards are:
* they are gentler on your knives, and;
* they remain in fantastic condition as long as they are well-cared for -- as outlined in the easy-care instructions I provide. End grain boards can become treasured heirlooms from one generation's family cook to the next.

If you want your board custom engraved, I am glad to do that although there is an additional fee. The fee will vary based on your design (# of letters, font, image, etc.). Please contact me so we can discuss, and get you exactly what you want.

Rubber feet are available at no charge if you request them in an Etsy conversation to me when you place your order.Because each board is handmade, orders will vary slightly in wood grain pattern and size; dimensions are accurate to within 1/4 “.
