A book called Four and Twenty Toilers. There are 24 beautiful, almost full pagedrawings by F.D. Bedford and accompanying verses by E.V. Lucas. Each drawing/verse represent various industries, i.e., cobbler, gardener, miller, engine driver, builder, vet, knife grinder, farmer, clockwinder, woodman, carpenter, gamekeeper, bird stuffer, bee farmer, etc.
Printed in New York by McDevitt-Wilson's Inc. The book is undated, but is likely from around 1910. This is the American edition. There was also a British edition.
Blue cloth bound. The spine is cracked at the top and there is some wear at bottom of spine. Binding is not very tight but the pages are not ready to fall off anytime. Only one or two pages have smudges. One page (page 33) has a tear at the top, not in the illustration. The tear is repaired with archival mending tissue. Otherwise, all other pages are in very good condition.
This book is sold elsewhere on the internet for at least $100.
This is an original, highly collectible book, not a reproduction! Bananastrudel sells only originals.
Shipping to Canada and the US is by expedited parcel, with tracking. International shipments are by air mail, but with no tracking.
