Product code: 1867 Antique Hand-Coloured Mitchell Map of outlet Quebec, Canada - Canada East

From the venerable Mitchell atlas, one of the most attractive atlases produced in the 19th century comes this visually stunning antique, hand-coloured map of "Canada East" -- now Quebec (and known in an earlier time as "Lower Canada"). An inset shows Montreal and vicinity.

Size: approx. 14.5 inches x 12 inches (36.83 cm x 30.48 cm)

Text at the bottom states "Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1867 by S. Augustus Mitchell, Jr. in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the U.S. for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania".

The map has an intricate vine motif border, typical for Mitchell atlases of that era. In very good condition; blank on the reverse.
