Welcome to Wanderers, a Great Lakes Driftwood Shop. Thank you for checking out our collection! Wanderers specializes in offering a wide variety of hand-collected, naturally-purified driftwood sourced solely from the Great Lakes region, the largest freshwater body on the planet.

Nature's driftwood carries bacteria, algae, fungi and lake pollution in the wood even after scrubbing and rinsing. This is where many driftwood collections stop their process, leaving microorganisms all over the wood, decreasing it's life expectancy. At Wanderers, we take an artisan-level approach to preparing every piece.

Our natural purification process is what sets us apart. We are unique in that our driftwood is submerged in 93 degree water under heavy stone for a minimum of 6 months, leeching pollution out of the wood all the while. The water is changed at scalding hot temperatures twice a week, destroying all bacteria and fungi living outlet on and inside the wood. Tannic acids are also leeched from the wood causing it to sink! Once removed from the purification tubs, the driftwood is stunning, safe and ready to enjoy for years to come.
