Smooth Bottom, Large Block pans care in sizes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
The #2 is the most difficult and expensive to find.
This pan was originally nickel plated, polished to give it a chrome appearance.
The nickel is food grade, and will not affect use.
In 1868, Matthew Griswold and his Cousins, the Selden Brothers, ran a factory producing metal hinges; This factory became known as Selden & Griswold.
In 1884 Matthew Griswold bought outlet the Selden shares of the company and after a fire in 1885, the foundry is rebuilt and named Griswold Manufacturing Company.
Griswold produced brands: Selden & Griswold, Erie, Griswold's Erie, Alfred Andersen, Victor, Iron Mountain, Best Made, Good Health, Merit, and Puritan.
The foundry produced cast iron cookware until 1957.
