This early 1920s gown was most probably a court presentation gown, it may have been for a bride, but I think the former suggestion is more likely.
This is a phenomenal piece, but it needs restoration before it is wearable as the lining, which has most of the fastenings on it, has shattered.
The outer silk is strong, but it has underarm staining, some small scattered marks and some minor scuffing. I do believe it could be cleaned up well enough to be an absolute jaw dropper of a dress once again.
There are outlet hooks on the shoulders, and this would have been worn with a matching silk train, but unfortunately the two parts are no longer together.
The paste decorations have squashed or scuffed the fabric in places.
The mannequin is 33-24-34 and that is a great fit on the bust.

Shoulder to waist 16.5 inches
Hips fairly free due to the gathers from the waist, this almost has a robe de style effect
53 inches shoulder to front hem with a drop at the back of about 5 inches
