This beautiful bowl and under plate were made around 1876 given the mark on the bottom. The mark says CFH which stands for Charles Field Haviland. The older designs by this company were unnamed, but have since been given names by collectors. This design has been called "Moss Rose' for more than 100 years. The early pieces like shown here had color added to some pieces to make them more desirable to the women of the wealthy. This set has a pink rim border. They also were using actual gold in the trim paint. This set is in wonderful condition, the hand painted design is beautifully preserved. It would be a lovely addition to traditional Moss Rose set.
The bowl measures 5.5 inches in diameter and 2.75 inches tall. The plate measures 6.5 inches in outlet diameter and 1.5 inches tall.
