Product code: Hand-printed designer dress with outlet neon stitch print by Livio de Siomone, made in Capri/Italy

One of my absolute personal highlights! This dress is so rare and special, not only because of the great neon color combination and the geometric print. It is a designer dress by Livio des Simone, known for its stunning colors and patterns in outlet both clothing and upholstery fabrics (for more information on the designer, see below). It was hand-printed in Capri/Italy. It shows color irregularities in some places - these are not defects, but they make the process of production and craftsmanship visible.

SIZE/DIMENSIONS:

The label says size 8. Very suitable for size S (36/38) in my estimation. Also wearable as a jacket for Medium. Relatively straight cut, very slightly waisted. Please note dimensions:

Armpit to armpit: 48 cm
Waist: 44
Hips: 47
Length: 104

All dimensions measured on the flat garment. For comparison, it is best to measure on a similar garment (which fits well).

MATERIAL: 100% cotton, hand printed. Washing instructions: soap and water. Hand wash recommended.

CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. The colors are still very vivid.

_________________________

Livio De Simone created his company in the 50s and became the icon of the Capri style, with his artisan approach to production and his love for vivid colors. He started out designing fabric for Emilio Pucci in 1960. Simone, known as the "stylist-painter" produced a collection in his own name during the Sixties and Seventies which launched a new way of dressing up; easy-going and eccentric, in the sign of all possible colors. In 1965 he was joined by his wife Graziella and the firm established the group of artisans which still exist today. The label has always been focused on summer and on the sea and is distinguished by beautiful patterns and vibrant colors. His clothes were clothes were worn by divas of the 50's and 60's like Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline Onassis, Lana Turner, Ingrid Bergman, etc. This is a very collectible piece of Italian fashion history - very desirable, you don't often see these hand painted Livio de Simone garments.
