BOHEMIAN CRYSTAL GOBLET - Antique citrine goblet with hand carved and acid etched leaping stag outlet circa 1910
This a fine example of a late 19th century / early 20th century Bohemian crystal goblet.
Though simple in design, the proportions of this goblet are elegant. The base has a faceted ring and foot. The crystal was tinted in a warm citrine yellow tone. The scene, hand engraved by the artist, depicts a single leaping stag. The ground above which he hovers provides a continuing frieze around the tumbler, and the trees and foliage around the glass add depth to the scene.
The piece is in wonderful condition with no crack or chip. There is some standard wear under the base with some light scratches. The crystal itself displays a bubble at the base of the drinking section, seen in the upside down photograph. There is a darker spot in the crystal best seen in the last close-up of the foot, but it isn't overtly visible.
The piece measures 3 7/8" in diameter and is 7 5/8" tall. It outlet is a rather heavy piece.
