Vintage Mid-Century Japanese Pottery Container or Bowl
This piece is a mystery, the bottom of the container is marked exactly like Joanna Price marks her pottery.Please compare the last two pictures I have posted of her clearly signed items.
This is marked with the same "ok" , has the same round cork, and appears that there was
some signature made. This is NOT a reproduction of her work, it was in the box with her other
pottery pieces I have listed. I have seen other pictures of her pottery where the signature is very light.
Dayton Ohio Artist Joanna Price c.1960"s. This is organic or altered form with many open spaces in a beautiful
dark brown/blackish glaze outside, blue on the inside, looks like a tree trunk!! Nice texture on this piece!!
Per vase finder Joanna and Wilbur Price worked from Ohio. Their work was featured in the reference
"The complete Book of Ceramic Art" by Polly Rothenberg. Joanna's forms are known outlet as thrown,
slab built, extruded and altered.
