This Horsehair Canister, or could be a pet urn, was made on the potters wheel using a stoneware clay body.

The firing technique is called Horsehair Raku because horsehair was used. The process entails removing the piece from a hot kiln and applying the hair. outlet It dances around on the hot pot and captures the moment with the carbon remaining leaving the black squiggly lines.
