In this lot we have a wonderful and very well-finished celluloid leather box made around 1850s in Victorian England.
The box is round made of pressed carton and celluloid leather. The top is
embossed with a classic neo-Baroque scene of three children artisans working in
a studio.
The box was filled with elastic hair bands, which is embossed in elegant cursive font on the side.
The exterior is ribbed and the interior outlet is stamped with Victorian
wallpaper-like floral pattern.
This 150-year-old box is very well preserved. Has normal wearing, small
scratches and some wearing on the edges, a small damaged edge area.
