These prints have been taken from my original suminagashi works in ink and have been scanned in the highest quality and digitally altered by echoing the initial print creating a unique image.
Suminagashi (墨流し) is the ancient Japanese technique of decorating paper with outlet inks. It is believed to be the oldest form of marbling, originating in China over 2,000 years ago and practiced in Japan by Shinto priests as early as the 12th century.
Each print is beautifully transferred onto Canson Rag Photographique Archival 100% cotton museum grade fine art paper (310gsm). This paper has a unique extra smooth matte surface with a sensual feel.
Size is 11"x14" (including the border).
Artwork is individually signed and numbered in pencil along the lower margin. Closed edition of 25 prints, which means only 25 people in the world will own the particular print. Never again to be reproduced.
Prints arrive backed with a white backing board and protected within an acid free, crystal clear sleeve and shipped in a rigid mailer.
Kindly note that this print is NOT framed or mounted.
