Trapped is a dreamscape of a figure drawing of a giant that is held in an underground cavern. With the use of chiaroscuro this giant is brought to life with light and dark. Follow each mark as it fades in and out of reality.

I arrive at most of my images through dreams or through what the canvas and my creative muse is recounting to me at the time of drawing or painting. With over 25 years of drawing, printmaking and painting experience this has given me the tools to easily draw figures that are the protagonist of their own fates. My images are drawn from Greek Mythology, writers such as G.J Ballard and Alan Ginsburg. My images are much influenced by the surrealist artists, Salvador Dali, Odilon Redon, Rene Magritte and Giorgio DeChirico.
Alejandro Tearney has an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in printmaking and has been drawing and painting digitally for the past 20 years. Alejandro has also been teaching digital painting for the past 7 years and is currently teaching iArt at the Fremantle Arts Centre.
