This bangle is constructed from silver tone metal. It features three white plastic rectangular panels (two small and one large) each detailed with a gilt metal salamander design. This bangle is adjustable in size, but the current diameter of the bangle is 6.25cm.
A Short History...
Fascinatingly, Jean Painlevé was not a costume jewellery creator, but a French avant garde filmmaker. He was widely celebrated for his films on marine life, particularly 'L'Hippocampe' (The Seahorse), which prompted the creation of a brand of jewellery and fabrics in 1936 inspired by his work. This bangle outlet is features Salamanders - another underwater creature which features in his work.
