A fun mixed media encaustic painting. Full of texture featuring a wonderful three dimensional grouping of houses in a Village with the sun coming up in the background. This piece of art is totally handcrafted from the wooden shadowbox frame, vintage pieces of wood for the little houses painted in encaustic medium and the lovely handmade ceramic tile pieces. The piece is further enhanced with a backdrop of song lyrics from ‘Wondering Where the Lions Are' by Canadian singer-songwriter, Bruce Cockburn. It all comes together to form a lovely bright, simplistic composition!

Encaustic is the medium used to paint this grouping in a lovely array of muted colors - green, turquoise, blue, red, and white. Painted on a wood blocks mounted in a handcrafted shadowbox frame, this encaustic original art is the perfect housewarming or wedding gift!

This original one of a kind mixed media outlet encaustic painting is entitled ‘sun's up' and was painted by my mother - Corinne Hodgson.

Many layers of encaustic medium have been built up to create this wonderfully whimsical creation. It is painted on a collection of woodblocks that create a little village, hand crafted ceramic tiles have been added to add another layer of texture and interest. It has been framed in a handcrafted shadowbox frame that has been stained with a nice dark finish. The frame is complete with a hanging bracket and has been signed by the artist

This piece measures 7 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches in length and 1 1/2 inches deep.
