Seasoned Hickory Wood Walking Stick, Staff, Cane, Hiking Stick, Gentlemens Cane made at Kentucky Naturally.
Naturally grown in Western KY then whittled, carved and finished by me, Johnny..or some know me as "Groover" or "Kentucky Johnny."

38.5 inches. This can be shortened a bit if needed from the bottom of the cane.

This is a sturdy and strong walking stick to help the right person along their way. This is another piece I found in wooded area at the back of our little "farm" few acres. Like other Hickory this has a very interesting bark and as it seasoned the grooves in the wood became deeper and more interesting with the rich dark brown coloring. The wrinkles, grooves, splits and knots add to its character and give it a great texture and feel in your hand. It is like you can feel its strength.

It feels comfortable holding it at the top where it widens slightly to nice slant. And some outlet may use the top as place to put thumb to steady the cane. I have done work with the stick but have left most of the bark because of its look and finish after smoothing it down. I have added a light gloss for protection and a little shine.

A really beautiful walking stick.

It is seasoned and should give years of good use. It is a medium weight for its size. Certainly heavy duty and an attractive stick.
