A 1954 Napier premier necklace and earring suite!
To quote the 1954 Napier advertisement for this vintage necklace - "You'll give her fashionable elegance when you give these classic jewels by Napier. All the dignity and grace of a most treasure possession is in Napier's lovely design."
That ad was spot on, as 64 years later those words still ring true.
Stunning open work scroll stampings form the elegant links of the necklace. Gracefully joined together by brass caps, the faux glass carnelian cabochons, in each link, complete the beauty.
The necklace has a gold-plate finish.
Condition is good. The gold wash has dulled with age. The earrings top, somewhere through time, was folded down behind the earring (original owner did not like larger shape and had her jeweler alter). It may be possible to reform to original shape, and will leave to new owner.
Measurements - unclasp, the necklace is 18 inches. The earrings are 3/4 inches x 1/2 inch (in as-in condition).
Set can be found on page 270 of Melinda L. Lewis book, "The Napier Co."
Please look at the photos as they provide the visual description of the vintage costume jewelry. Since these are vintage pieces, please expect wear consistent with age. If there are conditions issues, it will be noted in the description and shown in the photos. Questions are always welcome.
