Libyan desert glass is a rare meteor impact tektite only found in one area of the earth. Formed when the superheated outlet meteorite strikes the earth and sand from the impacted area instantly melts and is flung through the air forming unique shapes and cooling before it lands back on the desert dunes. It forms similarly to moldavite but the properties of this beautiful tektite is different and gentler.
